The last known family measurement was on a wall in the family cabin in Canada. The room was dark and the camera had to be close, so it's unsteady, but it freeze frames on the last measurement. Pete was 17 at the time.

Pete Duel as the Great Hannibal Heyes: My Hero
I cried for months when he passed. I was just a teenager and I had such a crush on him. To this day I still think of him and my eyes fill with tears 😢
As ever did these two brothers look a like. Both so handsome. I knew that they were related somehow. When I saw his younger brother in Chisum. I googled it. I was only 9 when Peter died. I was so shocked l had the biggest crush on him. Even as a kid I knew that he was gorgeous. I still wish things had turned out differently for him. He had so much to offer 💔💔❤️🔥❤️🔥🙏🙏🪽🪽👼👼🕊️🕊️😭😭
Peter eas so adorable. He seemed so cute with his personality and looks. A very hsndsome man. Gone way to soon.. hope hes resting in peace. How sad.....😢
One georgeous man. Rest in peace🙏
This is a beautiful tribute to Pete Duel. Thankyou, I agree we were lucky to have had him in our lifetime!
Feel so sad watching this, both handsome, loving brothers, torn apart by such a tragedy. 😢
❤
Lovely tribute
Yes, sure he had the most incredible voice. But also he was a loveable man, very talented actor, very handsome, a good guy. Ben said, he was sunny.❤ A man who should live beloved, happy and healthy. Successful in a long life. Unbelievable that he made suizide this year, 53 years ago. 😢 It' s heartbreaking like first moment , when he did it. 💔😔
💔
Pete wS very special to us.Why wasn't he special to himself
Pete visits us every day with his happiness. When we need it.
I was really young when this show was out but it made a big impression on me. I remember watching this episode as a child and it was very traumatizing what happened to Jim Hutton's character and now getting to see it again is a real special treat. The writing on the show was incredible and this particular story really touched on an important ecology topic of the time which was deforestation. There's just something special about this episode that I keep coming back to I'm not sure why..... the chemistry between Robert Stack and Susan Saint James was special, she wasn't just another pretty bimbo waiting to be victimized there was a lot of depth to her character and she was a unique actress. She definitely knew how to assert herself and was pretty tough when she had to be. Robert and Susan made a really cool team working together, wish there would have been a lot more of this to explore. That last scene between them at the end felt like it was the beginning of something special and just kind of sticks with you... thanks for a great post! R.I.P. Robert Stack
貴方は私が子供の頃に西部の二人組で楽しませてくれました,あんなに楽しい番組に出ていて何を悩んでいたの?毎週笑いながら見ていたのに貴方は問題を抱えていたのね,わからなかった,会いたいなあ
It's been 50 years since this beautiful man passed away. I remember the day I heard . I just cried and cried.
the world lost a beautiful soul that day in 71 and is still deeply missed today
I was 12 when Pete Duel sadly took his own life in 71. Couldn’t understand back then as he seemed so happy when he was in Alias Smith & Jones. You can still see the hurt in his brother’s face when he was talking about him. RIP Pete Duel you were much loved.
Thank you for sharing xx❤
I can't thank you enough for sharing this memorial of Pete, I've been a fan of him for years and was sadden by his death. I named my son after him , Pete will live on forever ❤❤🙏
I think that is why the tv Western; "ALIAS SMITH & JONES" was such a big hit with fans (and still fairly popular elsewhere even today). ..Pete Duel had great "comic timing" & had a great knack with those one liners...etc. He starred in "Gidget" back in 1965 when I was 7 years old and I loved that show. I still think if Pete had stuck it out...he might have even made it as big as Sally Field. She was 20 yrs old and he was 25...so not much difference in age.The ASAJ series failed after his death...and look what happened to Ben Murphy. Poor Ben Murphy's career bit the dust after "Alias Smith and Jones" was canceled. So look who kept that series going. Very sad and very tragic!
Don't want to wake from the dream.T
I still love him. But more Pete 💓 than Hannibal Heyes. Pete gave Hannibal Heyes the loveable Charme, his Beauty and Charism. Hannibal Heyes ist only so unforgettable through Pete acting this character. ❤ Such a great actor! Which sucess had could become to him, If he doesn' t made suizid?
I will never forget Peter , he is simply the best ❤
I had a big poster on my wall of Pete in his hannibal hayes clothes
What a sweet gift to us all was Pete Deuel. This is such a lovingly gentle way to honor him. It is both personal & moving. Thank you. Peace be with you 🕊
I've been looking for Name of the Game for YEARS. I could have sworn I checked youtube previously....Musta been pre-2016. Yeah. Thanks for posting I am REALLY REALLY looking forward to this! The whereabouts of this series has been a mystery to me for a long, long time.
I was about 10 ....thankyou for such a thoughtful, moving tribute to Pete ...beautifully done
Pete Duel had no idea the people he touched with how good an actor he was. If he wasn't the right person in every role he played, we wouldn't still be talking about him and missing him. His potential knew no bounds...he just couldn't feel what we saw...
There's an episode of this program with Steven Spielberg directing an episode called "LA 2017", where the smog has cause LA to live underground. It's there where Gene Barry is accosted above ground and brought to the underground hierarchy, and detained for a time. He's being surveilled in his accommodations there, as a female romances him. The scene shifts back and forth between the individuals staffing the video monitors, and Barry and the girl. It's then in the surveillance room that the two observers exchange the following; " there was a report in Cleveland of a 'surface' negro", while the other replies that reports said that the 'burn' in 96 had eliminated them" Interpret what you want on this exchange in the movie, but I'm sure some virtue signaler or sensitive black discovered this, and ran with it (to the NAACP and like), especially when they discovered that Spielberg directed the particular episode. This is probably why that particular episode, is no longer available on You Tube. like it used to be. (that's how I came upon it)
❤❤❤😢
So sorry...it's been many years and we are all getting old😅😅he was such a good actor...never forget ....
I was 13 when he died, and I was devastated. He and Geoff looked so much alike, they could have been twins.
Pete was so talented. He was ambitious and didn't reach his goals. Hollywood is not a place for people who care about their talent.
You are one hot motherfuking dude and I played tennis on Pete duel he was good but I don't like Rick Springfield or whoever in the house playing this music can't stand them
😂
A brilliant documentary!
Wonderful awesome❤
Today as everyday I think about my late husband and also about Pete♥️♥️💔💔😥😥. Two wonderful men. The world is a much lesser place without them. Hoping I get to be reunited in Heaven someday with my husband and get to meet Pete too. Thanks for this beautiful video 👍♥️
He was sooo good, a rare talent. I just wish whatever demons he had that night let him be. I was 13, the best memory I have of my 15-year-old brother is watching AS&J together. PD could have become the person he wanted to be, he just couldn't see that far forward. So sad, I'm devastated to this day.
2024 and still remembering my first love Pete oh so often
